Crazy Times!

Well, I have to apologize – due to technical difficulties and traveling non-stop for the last few weeks – I’ve been lax in my blogging, and have not managed to post my Featured Friday Author. But then I figured, since last Friday was my birthday,(not sure what that has to do with anything),  and I…

Meet Author Becky Lyles!

I’m pleased to have author Becky Lyles guest posting for us today!   As you’ve probably figured out by now, writing a book rarely happens overnight. Though the first Author spoke just a handful of words—“let there be”—and complete, perfect creations popped into existence, we human authors must take time to develop our skills and…

Should We Adopt?

Life is interesting. When I set out to write Hidden in the Heart, I’ll be honest, it was mostly for myself. I needed to write that story, and once the characters took life and started on their own journeys, I was pretty excited. And here I am, three weeks out from the book’s release, and…

Meet Author Sarah Sundin!

Who Are You? I’m just your average author/pharmacist/soccer mom. All right, so that’s pretty strange. I was raised in southern California in a home full of readers and always had my nose in a book. Although I flirted with idea of becoming a writer, I also wanted to be a ballerina and a protozoologist. When…

Meet Author Jim Callan!

Who are you? I took a degree in English intent on writing.  But I soon found I could not support a family writing and so I returned to graduate school, entering a Ph.D. program in mathematics.  This led to a career in research,  and grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and the Data Processing…

The Next Best Step

March 25, 2019 |

The one sure thing about life, the one thing you can pretty much count on, is that it won’t always be easy. You know this. You’ve already been through some tough stuff. And you’ve survived. Maybe even triumphed. But then it all comes back for a second round. Or a third. Maybe you’re getting hit…

Write, Straight Up

May 7, 2018 |

Not on the rocks. Not with a splash. Maybe a twist, that’d be fun. But don’t water it down. Write what you want to say, write from you heart, and write, for the love of everything, like you mean it. If you don’t mean it, don’t waste your reader’s time, or yours. After 20 something…

Family Matters

October 28, 2016 |

I grew up an only child. As much as I was loved and probably (okay, definitely) spoiled by my parents, I think part of me missed not having a sibling. There were times when it was lonely. Times when I had to use my imagination to create the extra people I thought I needed in…

So My Mom Wrote A Book…

June 14, 2016 |

Hey, everybody! This is Noah. (I’m the adorably handsome dog in the picture). I’m hijacking my mom’s blog today, because, quite frankly, enough is enough.  I’m used to getting all the attention around here, seriously, and lately? Well, my mom wrote this book. And it’s getting AAAAALLLLLL the attention. That’s my Mom. That’s her book.…

And This Is Why The Words Matter …

May 19, 2016 |

So I wrote a piece about Guarding The Writer’s Heart – and it’s true. It’s tough out there. You’re going to get criticism no matter what. It’s just a given. Kinda like running for President. But not. And we won’t go there. But you know . . . this year so far . . .…

Remember When?

April 4, 2016 |

How many conversations start with that question? Probably more than we remember. Yet it’s an immediate pull back into the past, back to an event or shared memory that somehow binds people together, often whether they like it or not. The biggest events in history have turned strangers into friends. V-Day. The assassination of JFK.…

Conversation in A Coffee Shop

February 18, 2016 |

I see her there. This sad reflection of myself. Sitting. Alone. Alone only with her thoughts and the icon flashing fierce on the blank screen. Cautiously I slide into the seat opposite her. Offer coffee. And a smile of recognition. “Hello, writer.” She looks up, bleary eyed. Befuddled. “How did you know?” The question sighs…

Why Do The Words Matter?

January 19, 2016 |

There will be those who simply refuse what you’re giving. They will scorn, belittle and reject. And okay, sure, that might hurt. But that doesn’t mean you stop trying.

More Coffee … Need

January 11, 2016 |

Yeah, okay. But it’s Monday morning and I just spent two hours working on changing up this blog, and five minutes ago I sat staring at this screen in full out panic mode, thinking I’d just deleted the ENTIRE THING!! So I need more coffee. Because this is pretty much me in the morning. And,…

Crazy Times!

Well, I have to apologize – due to technical difficulties and traveling non-stop for the last few weeks – I’ve been lax in my blogging, and have not managed to post my Featured Friday Author. But then I figured, since last Friday was my birthday,(not sure what that has to do with anything),  and I am an author, I could feature myself. And do a giveaway!
Pretty smart thinking, eh? So, here we go!

Who Are You?

I’m an incredibly blessed wife to an amazing man, we’ve been married 26 years now, so when people ask me if I think my daughter is young to be getting married at 23, I say no, I was married at 20 and it worked out just fine!! We have two incredibly talented children – Sarah, the daughter getting married in May, is a photographer, and our son, Chris, is a musician studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. We’re so proud of them both we can hardly stand it. 🙂

I’m someone who is constantly amazed by God’s grace. And awed that He calls me His.

I love dogs – we have a four-year-old Border Collie, Noah, who is my third child, since ours have both flown the coop! He’s pretty much a one person dog and when I’m home he’ll be right there by my feet. And yes, he does collaborate on my stories with me. 🙂

I love to write stories about forgiveness, redemption and hope, and being able to share them with readers is such a cool thing!

Where Are You Now?

I’m in a very satisfied place in my life. I’ve had two books released, Yesterday’s Tomorrow, and Hidden in the Heart, which has been a dream come true in so many ways. I get to stay home and do what I love to do, which is write. I’ve got a couple projects with my agent at the moment that we’re going to be sending out in the near future, so I’m excited to see what will happen with those books. I’m working on another story now that’s been on the back-burner for a while. And I’m just trying to keep my head afloat amidst it all!

Where Are You Going?

That’s the exciting part – I don’t really know! But I do know that God has it all laid out, and I’ll just go along for the ride! It’s been a great one so far, along with some ups and downs and hard times, which served to bring me closer to Him, so I’m just trusting that next chapter of my life will be full of the same. I wouldn’t mind if there were no hard times though, but that’s all part of the journey, isn’t it?
