What's On Your List?

I love to write. It’s time-consuming and all-encompassing. I also love to read, but find I need to be pretty picky when it comes to what I read. Back to that time issue. As in, I don’t want to waste mine. I have several writing projects on my list already for 2012, but I’d love…

What's With Those Sucky Endings Anyway? Oh, and Happy New Year!

Okay, here’s the thing about me. I like to be happy. I mean, who doesn’t really? Well, there are those few people on the planet who live to make others miserable, you know who they are. Just not happy unless they’re kavetching about something or other. And life just wouldn’t be the same without them.…

Meet Nike Chillemi!

If you’re active on any writing group on the internet, you’ve probably run into Nike on several of them! A Day Late…

It’s Christmas! I was supposed to post yesterday, but I didn’t. Time got away from me. Life took over. And I’m okay with that. I know a lot of blogs have regimented schedules and their writers are extremely good about sticking to them. I’m probably not going to be one of those writers. I’m not…

Meet Katie Ganshert!

I had the pleasure of meeting my friend Katie in person two years ago, after following her popular blog for a while. I soon realized that she’s just as nice in real life as she is on the ‘net! We’re now agency mates, conference hooligans and we also received our first contracts around the same…

The Birth of A Book

As you may know, my first novel was published this past March. Yesterday’s Tomorrow was truly the book of my heart. There were times when I thought I would never see it published. Times when I thought I’d never get an agent, let alone a book contract. Times when I just wanted to give up.…

Heiress – Let's Discuss…

I just finished Heiress, (Daughters of Fortune Series #1) by Susan May Warren. If you have not yet read the book, you may want to skip this post, but I’ll try not to give too much away. This isn’t really a review so much as it is a reaction. (And I will try very hard…

When the World Stopped

March 30, 2020 |

It took a couple hours to get through the cobwebs to find this page. It’s been a little over a year since I wrote my last blog post. I figured it was a waste of time, and I had better things to do. Better things to spend my time on. Time was precious. And now there…

The Next Best Step

March 25, 2019 |

The one sure thing about life, the one thing you can pretty much count on, is that it won’t always be easy. You know this. You’ve already been through some tough stuff. And you’ve survived. Maybe even triumphed. But then it all comes back for a second round. Or a third. Maybe you’re getting hit…

What To Do With Fear and Failure and Other Nuisances

February 18, 2019 |

I’m fine. I’m fine. I’m fine. Maybe you’re familiar with the mantra? It’s easy to say. Easy to repeat. And easy to convince yourself of. Because if you say something enough times, eventually you begin to believe it. Even if it’s not true. So last week I wrote about change, and how I was going…

Change. Again.

February 9, 2019 |

I didn’t pick a word for the year. I don’t know why, really. I guess I didn’t give it much thought. But now I kind of feel the word picked me. Change. Ironically, it was my word for 2015. And I wrote this blog post about it. Just a few months before I would announce…

Maybe It’s Time

December 27, 2018 |

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”  — Eleanor Roosevelt. So we…

What's On Your List?

I love to write. It’s time-consuming and all-encompassing. I also love to read, but find I need to be pretty picky when it comes to what I read. Back to that time issue. As in, I don’t want to waste mine. I have several writing projects on my list already for 2012, but I’d love to add some great books to my TBR pile. Trouble is, when I try to check on Amazon, I end up getting confused and dazed and simply tired of seeing a bunch of bare-chested, long-haired men if I select ‘Romance’ in my search category.

So I’m asking you.

What’s on your reading list for 2012, and what did you read last year that you simply loved?
