What Are You Reading Right Now?
November 9, 2011 /
Every now and then, I’ll throw this question out at you.
What’s on your nightstand or Kindle or whatever, RIGHT NOW?
And if you’re one of those lucky people who can manage to read several books at the same time, which one is really grabbing you the most? Why?

I’m reading The Tehran Initiative by Joel Rosenberg. Why? I have a review due today and I’m almost done. So I have set other books aside for the past few days. Would I be exclusively reading this one if I had more time? Yeah, because it’s really good. I’ll finish it before I read anything else.
I’ve heard about this guys and his books but haven’t read any yet. Maybe I’ll have to start. Are they available on Kindle?
I’m currently reading:
In print copy: Shadow in Serenity by Terri Blackstock
and Love Finds You on Christmas Morning by Trish Perry and Debby Mayne.
On my Kindle I have:
Reinventing Leona by Lynne Gentry.
I keep going back to Leona’s story. Such emotions and really strong visual writing. She is crafting an excellent start to the novel that makes me want to keep going back for more. And it’s not a review book. š
Casey, I have Reinventing Leona on Kindle, too š I guess I need to give it a place on my nightstand after reading your opinion so far!
I LOVED it Anne!
In order from top to bottom: A Christmas Journey Home by Kathy Macias (1/3 through), A Most Unsuitable Match by Stephanie Grace Whitson (not started), The Snowflake by Jamie Carie (finished) and Campbell’s Classic Recipes cookbook š I think I’m in the mood for the Christmas stories already hence not having started Stephanie’s book and looking for some new recipes to try this weekend when it is supposed to be in the 30’s here!
Wow Anne. š I get too confused if I read a lot of books at the same time, lol!! My max is probably two. There are so many great books out there, right?!
Okay – I just finished Julie Lessman’s A Hope Undaunted. I’d only read one of her books so all the different characters were a little confusing until I figured out who belonged to who, but I LOVED the story. Of course then I discovered that we’re pitted against each other in the INSPYs!! Now I wish I hadn’t read it just yet!! Let’s see. Oh, just finished Nightshade by Ronie Kendig. A fast-paced what’s going to happen next read!! Ronie’s on my home blog tomorrow with a giveaway so check that out. Don Brown is there today.
I’m currently reading The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Running a Winery š Don’t laugh, it’s research! My WIP is set in a winery. But having visited Sonoma, it’s actually a fascinating read. Up next on my iPad is The Doctor’s Lady by Jody Hedlund, and I just started Burning Hearts by Nike Chillemi. Being flat on my back these past few weeks has allowed me to get quite a bit of reading done!!
Cathy, You sound like you’re reading some goods ones. I’ve read Ronie’s books! You will be hooked on the series, for sure!
My husband & I live in an area that grows a lot of blackberries and muscadine grapes for wine making. We have several wineries in our area. In fact, we made our own peach wine a couple of years ago. You have to do a lot of research. I look forward to your book š
I just started reading the 2nd Rachel Flynn Mystery “Sticks & Stones” by Susan Meissner…before that, I read some Paige Winship Dooley…my “to read” stack is literally higher than my head!!! I read “Yesterday’s Tommorrow” awhile back and I cannot say enough about how much I LOVE that book!! It was so real, I literally had the movie going through my head as I read. If anyone hasn’t read it yet, why not??? Margie
I always have a stack of books on my nightstand! It drives me a bit crazy actually. I just finished “Killing Lincoln” which is an hourly account of the last week of Lincoln’s life. I loved it!
I usually only read one novel at a time, but I might also have a non-fiction or two going.
I’m reading Colleen Coble’s” Lonestar Angel” to review for Thomas Nelson Publishing. Enjoying the book very much!
Nothing, because I’m too busy with classes to read right now. š Lots that I want to read as soon as I had in my last assignment in December – Esi Edugyan’s novel Half-Blood Blues being at the top of the list. š
Among other things, I’m reading “It was the best of sentences, it was the worst of sentences.” It’s a good read for anyone interested in grammar. It’s a humorous and light read. Although I have a number of fiction books on the go, I’m looking for that next grab-me-by-the-throat story.
I just finished THE SKIN MAP by Stephen R Lawhead. What an AMAZING, EXHILARATING READ!! I haven’t read anything by this author before and what an ADVENTURE it’s been. This is the first installment of a trilogy! the next book in the series is The Bone House.
This book starts where the journey in the first book ended. It’s a book of time travel, mystery and all seeking the treasure of The Skin Map. I HIGHLY Recommend it!
