Not on the rocks. Not with a splash. Maybe a twist, that’d be fun. But don’t water it down. Write what you want to say, write from you heart, and write, for the love of everything, like you mean it. If you don’t mean it, don’t waste your reader’s time, or yours. After 20 something…read more...
Happy Monday, friends. Not sure why we say that, really, since most folks I know aren’t all that jacked about Mondays. Me included. But hey, maybe it helps the motivation pick up a little speed, who knows. Positive thinking is always a good thing, right? So, April 2017. Which means I have survived the release…read more...

Spine Poetry Challenge!
If you’ve ever been to Vermont, you’ll remember the covered bridges. I’ll never forget my first glimpse of one, as a girl traveling with her parents, from a tiny island surrounded by ocean, to see this long red wooden structure perched precariously over the rushing water beneath it … I was mesmerized. Even cooler was when we were able to drive through them. Something about the damp darkness, the almost eerie silence, the whoosh of the wind through the open windows of the car as we drove on through, fascinated my young mind.
So I shouldn’t have been surprised when one of my stories landed in the location of Vermont. And of course, there had to be a covered bridge.
In Bridge of Faith, as you’ll discover when you read the book, Faith Bridge plays an important role in a number of ways. I didn’t intentionally plan it that way, but as the plot unfolded, the bridge became significant to the story, a symbol of the past and a hope for the future. Once I knew what happened there on that bridge, both in history and over the course of the story, the title of the book, Bridge of Faith, was born. And it was perfect.
I think we all need a bridge of faith at some point in our lives – that moment when we know we have no choice, because if we want to get to the other side — if we want to claim that victory, we must cross the bridge, no matter how difficult it may be or how impossible it may seem.
With that said, let’s talk about Spine Poetry. If you’ve never done this, it’s really fun, and easy. All you need are some books, and your imagination. But maybe a visual will work best.
